Nervous about the dentist, or haven't been in years? A gentle Brandon dentist who takes it one step at a time
Dr. Shadan Hafsa is known for putting anxious patients at ease, one step at a time. Call (813) 820-0071 — we're accepting new patients, and in most cases we can see you for a complete exam the same day.
It doesn't matter how long it's been. You'll see the same dentist every visit, in a small, friendly office at 611 E Bloomingdale Ave, Suite C, Brandon — not a busy chain.
You're not the only one
Plenty of people put off the dentist for years — because of a bad experience, needles, cost worries, or embarrassment. Our job is to make coming back easy, not to make you feel bad about the gap.
How we make visits easier — without sedation
We don't offer sedation. Instead, we keep visits calm, predictable, and in your control:
- One dentist who gets to know you. No rotating providers. Dr. Hafsa gives you her full attention, without rushing.
- One step at a time. We explain each step before we do it and go at your pace.
- You see what we see. An intra-oral camera shows your own teeth on a screen, so nothing is a mystery.
- Nothing happens without your OK. We explain your choices — including what each option costs, in writing — before any treatment begins.
- Numbing without a traditional shot. The Wand is a computer-guided device that slowly numbs only the tooth being treated — with no numb lip, tongue, or half-face afterward.
- Less drilling, less discomfort. Laser dentistry can do many jobs a drill or scalpel used to do — usually with less pain and bleeding.
- Less radiation. Digital X-rays use about 90% less radiation than old film X-rays, taken only as needed.
Small things that help before your visit
- Tell us you're nervous when you call. That's all we need to know — we'll take it from there.
- Write down your questions and worries ahead of time, so nothing gets forgotten in the chair.
- Fill out your forms at home. New-patient forms are online, so you can arrive without paperwork to worry about.
- Ask about costs before you come. Call with your insurance card and we'll verify your benefits first.

Nervous patient FAQ
It's been years. Will I be judged?
No. We focus on where you are now and what will help.
Do you offer sedation?
No, we don't offer sedation. Instead we rely on gentle tools — single-tooth numbing with The Wand and laser dentistry for many procedures — an unhurried pace, and explaining every step before we do it.
I hate needles. Do I have to get a shot?
For many treatments we use The Wand, which numbs a single tooth without a traditional syringe.
Will you start treatment at my first visit?
Your first visit starts with an exam and a conversation. Nothing is done without your OK, and you get the plan and costs in writing first.
What if I need a lot of work?
We'll prioritize what matters most, explain every option, and can often spread treatment across two benefit years so your insurance helps twice.
Will it hurt?
We use gentle tools chosen to make visits easier — single-tooth numbing, laser dentistry for many procedures — and we go one step at a time.
What if I'm embarrassed about my teeth?
You don't need to be. We offer dentures, bridges, and crowns, and Dr. Hafsa's favorite work is helping people smile, chew, and speak comfortably again.
What if I have a dental emergency?
Walk-ins are welcome and dental emergencies get priority. After hours, call (813) 820-0071 — it is also our after-hours line.
